Abstract
A numerical study of the flameless combustion process was performed to investigate the influence of turbulent mixing intensity on the combustion process and NOx formation. The model is based on the representation of flameless combustion by a network of ideal reactors such as perfectly stirred reactor (PSR) and partially stirred reactor (PaSR). The computational results demonstrate that the combustion process as well as the NOx formation are very sensitive to the mixing intensity. However, the total NOx emission after complete combustion are seen to be only slightly influenced by the mixing intensity.
